Listing Fee & Refund Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026 (draft)
Browsing and buying on RigYard is free. Sellers pay a small fee to publish a listing, and can pay for optional extras. This policy explains how those fees work and when they're refunded. Current prices are on our Pricing page and are always shown before you pay.
1. What the fees cover
- Listing fee: publishes one listing for one computer for the listing period shown at checkout (normally 30 days). Some categories have their own price.
- Renewal: extends a listing for another full period. You can renew within 7 days of expiry, or after it has expired.
- Upgrades (when available): "Featured" pins a listing near the top of search for a set number of days; "Bump" moves it back to the top of the newest listings.
Fees are for advertising only. We don't take a cut of the sale price, and fees don't guarantee that your item will sell.
2. Free listings and promo codes
Your first listing is free, and we may run promotions, including free listings during our beta. Promo codes have their own conditions, shown when you apply them, and can't be exchanged for cash. Because card payments under 30p can't be processed, any fee that works out below 30p after discounts is waived.
3. Paying
Payments are processed securely by Stripe. You'll get an emailed receipt, and all your receipts are in Dashboard → Payments & receipts.
4. Your right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you usually have 14 days to cancel a contract for a service bought online. When you pay a listing fee, you ask us to publish your listing straight away. Once it's live, the service has been fully performed, and you agree that you lose the right to cancel at that point. If your listing hasn't gone live yet (for example, it's waiting for review), you can cancel for a full refund by emailing support@rigyard.example.
5. When we refund
We'll refund the fee in full if:
- you were charged but your listing never went live because of a fault on our side;
- you were charged twice for the same thing;
- we reject a listing that was held for review, unless it broke our rules (see below);
- we remove your listing by mistake, or a successful appeal finds our decision was wrong (we may instead restore the listing with its full period).
We don't refund fees if:
- you remove your own listing, sell the item elsewhere, or it doesn't sell;
- we remove the listing or suspend your account because you broke our Terms or Prohibited Items & Listing Policy.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, normally within 5–10 working days. To ask for a refund, email support@rigyard.example with your receipt number (it starts with "R-"). This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
6. The Business plan
Business sellers can subscribe to the Business plan instead of paying per listing. Its current price is on our Pricing page.
- What's included: listing fees and renewals for as long as the plan is active. Optional extras, such as featuring a listing, are charged separately.
- Billing: you pay monthly in advance by card through Stripe. The plan renews automatically each month until you cancel. We'll give you at least [30 DAYS] notice of any price change.
- Cancelling: cancel at any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing. The plan keeps working until the end of the month you've paid for. We don't refund part months. Because the plan is for business sellers, the 14-day cancellation right for consumers doesn't apply.
- Failed payments: if a payment fails we'll tell you and try again over the following days, and the plan keeps working meanwhile. If the payment still can't be taken, the plan ends.
- When the plan ends: your account and live listings stay as they are. New listings and renewals need the normal listing fee, and your storefront extras are hidden (but kept) until you subscribe again.
We may change or withdraw plans, with reasonable notice to subscribers.
