Community Guidelines
Last updated: 4 October 2026 (draft)
RigYard works because buyers and sellers can trust each other. These guidelines apply to listings, messages, offers, reviews and profiles.
Be honest
- Describe items accurately, faults included, and use real photos of the actual item.
- Only make offers you intend to honour, and keep to agreements you make.
- Leave reviews based on your own experience of a real sale. Don't review yourself, swap reviews or offer anything for a good one.
Be respectful
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse based on anyone's identity.
- Haggling is fine. Pressure, insults and repeated unwanted messages aren't.
- If someone doesn't want to sell to you, or says no to your offer, accept it.
- Don't share other people's personal information without their permission.
Keep it safe
- Keep conversations on RigYard until you meet. Don't move to WhatsApp or email to avoid our protections.
- Never ask for payment by bank transfer before the buyer has seen the item, or for gift cards, crypto or PayPal "Friends and Family".
- No "courier will collect" arrangements to avoid meeting, and no links to fake payment or delivery pages.
- Meet somewhere sensible and let the buyer test the computer. See our Stay Safe guide.
Keep it relevant
- No spam, advertising for other sites, or messages unrelated to the listing.
- Don't list items we don't allow (see our Prohibited Items & Listing Policy).
If something's wrong
Use the Report button on listings, profiles, conversations and reviews, or block someone from their profile or the conversation menu. Breaking these guidelines can lead to content being removed, a warning, or a suspension or ban. See our Reporting & Content Moderation Policy.
