Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 4 October 2026 (draft)
We want everyone to be able to buy and sell on RigYard, whatever device or assistive technology they use.
Our target
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. You should be able to:
- use every part of the site with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline;
- use a screen reader (we test with NVDA and VoiceOver): forms have labels, images have text alternatives, and status changes are announced;
- zoom to 400% without losing content, and use the site on small screens;
- use light or dark mode, both designed to meet contrast requirements;
- skip straight to the main content using the "Skip to main content" link.
How we test
Automated accessibility checks (axe) run on our key pages with every change, alongside manual keyboard and screen-reader testing. This statement was prepared on [DATE] and will be reviewed at least once a year.
Known issues
- Seller photos: descriptions of photos depend on what sellers write. We prompt sellers for alternative text, and use the listing title when none is given.
- Maps: the optional area map is visual only. The town and distance are always given as text.
- Third-party pages: the payment page (Stripe) and bot checks (Cloudflare Turnstile) are provided by other companies. We chose providers that publish accessibility commitments.
